High and low registers always embarrasse saxophonists.
MB always makes clear notes from the bottom to the top.
Could MB tell us something about it ?
Some people say -- to pronunce altissimo or low tone, change MPS position.
However, as I see in video, MB does not changes position in case of such
tone.
Maybe he controls it exclusively by throat.
Unfortunately, video say nothing about it.
Having checked a number of videos, I found a scene, MB changes MPS position
to control high/low tone.
That's in "Broadband" theme.
This theme involves continuous low/high alternated notes. --a little bit
difficult.
You can see, in fig.1, such alternated notes are seen.
bar-1 : Low / Middle
bar-2 : Altissimo / Middle
At every note, MB moves his chin position quickly.
MB can get a good articulation by this kind of ingenuity, if necessary.
Surely, it gives 'crisp' note, but is hard to catch up with tempo. That's
my impression after try.
