How can we play a high speed phrase like MB ?
Of course a perfect tonguing technique.
Absolutely, a remarkable high speed fingering.
MB Super fingering technique -- it must be the result of the extraordinate
exercise.
Still, are there some kind of tips?
I've mentioned before MB fingering action was very large and it does not
had an advantage for speed.
Is there something more ?
Let's check it by video as usual.
I found one point. --- especially on right hand, MB does not press the
key button by fingertip.
Probably, MB holds buttons with the first joint. (Fig.-1)
It is easily realized by video or picture, that MB's fingers are so long.
Is this an only reason his fingertip overruns the button position ?
The textbook says.
"Fingertips on buttons" --- yes, obvious.
I checked some other players on video, but, no one plays like MB.
Then, why does MB play in this way?
Before a conclusion, let's read the textbook further more.
"Do not use 1st,2nd joint when holding button. Use only 3rd joint."

Also, this is an important rule.
Bending 1st/2nd joint makes a dull fingering.
MB complys with this rule.
Moreover, MB fingering has a characteristic :
"Stretch 1st/2nd joint" (Fig.-2 Right)
This is why his fingertip exceeds button position.
It's quite difficult to keep 1st/2nd joint in a certain bend angle, and is easy to be blurred.
"Straight finger" must be a solution for consistent finger work.
In fact, I feel fine to play a high speed phrase in this way.
---But after that, only a practice enables everything.

どうすればMBのような高速フレーズが演奏できるのでしょうか？
もちろん高速でも正確なタンギングが必要なのですが、それにしても左右の指の動きは尋常ではありません。
ものすごい練習の成果であることは間違いありません。
でもなんらかのコツがあるのではないでしょうか？
以前、MBのフィンガリングはアクションが大きいことを書きました。
これ自体はあまり高速フィンガリングには有利とはいえません。
そのほか、何か特徴はないでしょうか？
例によってビデオを見てみます。
特にMBの右手で顕著なのが、必ずしも指先でボタンを押していないということです。(Fig.1参照）
MBの手は大きく、指も非常に長いことは映像でも明らかです。
特に右指の人差し指あたりは、指先がボタンをはるかに通り越しています。
たぶんボタンは第1関節あたりで抑えているのではないでしょうか？
普通は指先でボタンを抑えることになっていますが、なぜこうして演奏しているのでしょうか？
どうやら指の使い方に独特の工夫があるようです。
指の使い方に関し、「第1、第2関節は動かさない」という鉄則が教則本に書かれています。(Fig.1左)
確かに速いフレーズを演奏する場合、これは重要な掟です。
ボタンを「抑える・離す」のコントロールは各指の第3関節のみ使うということです。
確かに第1・第2関節の曲げは正確で速い動作に向かないことはやってみればわかります。
さて、MBの場合、これを忠実に守っていますが、さらに、、
「第1関節・第2関節は伸ばしたまま」(Fig.-2右)
という特徴を持っているようです。
これは右手・左手ともに言えることで、この結果、MBの長い指はボタンを超えてしまっているのです。
第1関節・第2関節は少し曲げたまま固定し第3関節だけを使うのがごく普通のフィンガリングです。
しかし「少しまげた」状態で固定するのはややぶれる可能性があるといえます。
これに比べ、関節を伸ばした方がぶれなく固定しやすいと思われます。
試しにMB流に抑えてみると確かに高速フレーズには向いているようです。
ただし、その先はやはり練習あるのみでしょうか。
